Ghada Karmi is a physician, academic, and writer. She was born in Jerusalem and was forced to leave with her family during the Nakba in 1948. She has lived in Britain ever since, and is a leading advocate of Palestinian rights. Her last academic appointment was as research fellow at the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies, University of Exeter. Her books include the widely acclaimed memoir, In Search of
Fatima, a second memoir, Return, and her first book on the one-state solution, Married to Another Man: Israel’s dilemma in Palestine.
