The Jewish Network for Palestine calls upon the British public to support us in demanding immediate and decisive action against the genocidal war by Israel against the citizens of Gaza and the rest of Palestine, by acting towards a just and peaceful ending of Zionist oppression and subjugation of the Palestinians.
- The military action by Hamas and Islamic Jihad against the brutal occupation is an act of resistance after 17 years of suffering from Israeli war crimes. Some 1200 Israelis, soldiers as well as civilians, were killed, many deliberately by the IDF in cross-fire and in the destruction of Israeli homes by tank fire, or by helicopters shooting Hellfire missiles. Targeting civilians is a war crime and illegal. Such acts nevertheless cannot and should not be used to justify Israel’s genocidal campaign and the ethnic cleansing – these are war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.
We call for immediate ceasefire, an immediate withdrawal of the IDF, an end to Gaza’s 17 years of siege and the placing a UN protection force as called for by South Africa. A full exchange of hostages and prisoners should follow.
- The Zionist project is a Settler-Colonial occupation of Palestine, that from the start involved brutal subjugation of its people, violent Ethnic Cleansing and denial of human and political rights. It has produced an Apartheid state.
There is no military solution to a colonial conflict: Security, peace, justice and equality can only be achieved by a political solution of decolonisation, negotiated with support from member nations of the General Assembly of the UN, but excluding colonial power of the past or present. The Israeli Zionist ethno-national fundamentalist state is an anachronism and should be terminated, and replaced by a single, secular democratic state for all between the river and the sea.
- The West, led by the US and UK, have aided and abetted Israeli’s genocidal attack on Gaza, adding to the long history of attacks on Palestinian rights.
The UN bears full responsibility for the Palestine tragedy, through its unjust and ill-conceived Partition Resolution of 1947; it did not act when Israel disregarded the provision of that resolution and occupied most of Palestine. The General Assembly of the UN should counter this illegal, brutal Ethnic Cleansing and genocidal campaign and correct its historical error by agreeing to the One Democratic State in Palestine
- Western leaders supported Genocide and voted against an immediate cease-fire and an end to the war. They provided Israel with political, military and financial support for its genocidal war.
Those leaders who supported genocide should be investigated by the ICC together with the Israeli perpetrators of this genocide, those who are leading it in the field and those who openly advocate it. We call for a full support of the international solidarity movement and the BDS campaign, as was done in the case of South Africa.
- Israel has leaked an official crucial document, authored by Israel’s Intel Minister, Gila Gamliel. in Hebrew, It describes the endgame as an illegal expulsion of all Gazans into Egyptian Sinai.
This plan is not an outcome of the events of October 7, but has been evident in the talk and policies of the Israeli regime prior to that, in the policies of siege and recurrent bombing, and degradation of life in Gaza and also in the West Bank where settler attacks on Palestinian communities, the regular killing of unarmed civilians with total impunity and threats of expulsion have been consistent and escalating. The Israeli leadership’s current talk of “a second war of independence” encapsulates the project clearly.
All nations should fight this illegal, brutal Ethnic Cleansing and prosecute Israeli politicians responsible for it. The US and other Western states should forthwith cease their arming and funding of Israel’s genocide and ethnic cleansing.
- Western Mainstream media were complicit through supporting genocide, undermining pro-Palestinian protests and advancing Israeli propaganda aims. Without such support such crimes could not take place.
The executives responsible for such a policy of supporting war crimes and crimes against humanity should be immediately removed from office.
- There is an alarming rise in antisemitism and Islamophobia across the world. This is not acceptable and threatens civil societies everywhere.
We call on communities everywhere to support the historical spirit of Convivencia – living together in peace and equality in Palestine, as was the case before Zionism. As in South Africa, this cannot be realized within an apartheid and colonial regime. A decolonized single, secular democratic state in all in Palestine/Israel is the only way that can guarantee equality, peace and prosperity for all.
- Many Jewish communities continued their unconditional support of Israel despite its many war crimes. Such support is likely to increase community tensions and bring about a rise in antisemitism.
We call on all Jewish communities everywhere to cease such unthinking and damaging support of illegal and criminal behaviour, and work for achieving a just peace in Israel/Palestine through the single, secular democratic state of all its citizens, including the refugees who have the right to return.
- The Arab leaders who normalised relations with Israel have harmed the cause of Palestine by caving-in to US pressure. They badly harmed Arab unity.
Such regimes are undemocratic, corrupt and oppressive; The Arab Spring exposed their collusion and illegitimacy. The Arab masses will not forgive such leaders.
- The people of Palestine have suffered enormously, ever since the beginning of the British Mandate and its support of Zionist colonisation. We should all bring an end to this deadly conflict, threatening regional and world peace.
We oppose the war-mongering positions of Western leaders; our message is one of peace, equality and justice, and long-term co-existence. It is the only way for the peoples of the region and of the world.
We ask you to reject genocide and ethnic cleansing and support our message.
