BBC and Palestine End the bias!

The BBC supports Israel’s genocide and Britain’s state racism
17 January 2025

The BBC has consistently colluded with Israel's genocide and Britain’s state racism.  For this reason, the Saturday 18th January 2025 pro-Palestine protest originally planned to assemble at the BBC as means to highlight its complicity.  The route was agreed by the Metropolitan Police in November.  More recently, the pro-Israel lobby falsely claimed that the plan would intimidate Jewish worshippers on Saturday morning at the Central Synagogue. The Met Police accepted this false claim.  Eventually the organizers reversed the route so that the demo would end at the BBC, long after the morning service.

Despite many exchanges with the organizers (alongside statements by the Jewish Bloc for Palestine), the Met Police maintained its original objections, thus highlighting its ulterior motive. Namely, itpromotes the scaremongering of the pro-Israel lobby, disguised as concern for Jews’ welfare.  For the entire story with excerpts from key documents,  see the article by Tony Greenstein, https://azvsas.blogspot.com/2025/01/led-by-jewish-bloc-we-will-be-marching.html

Why do pro-Palestine protestors want to target the BBC?

The BBC has consistently echoed Israeli government deceptions justifying its genocide.  Since October 2023 the BBC has systematically minimised Palestinian deaths, reported Israeli claims as fact (despite being discredited) and amplified supporters of its genocide.  The BBC has been there to justify Israeli actions directly murdering tens of thousands of Gazans.

BBC bias on Israeli atrocities is not accidental. Since November 2024, over 100 BBC staff have criticised the corporation's coverage,  lacking “accurate evidence-based journalism".  The BBC downplayed the ICJ ruling of plausible genocide in Gaza: Shockingly, the BBC chose not to broadcast South Africa’s case of genocide against Israel but chose to broadcast Israel’s defence.   BBC whistle-blowers have identified a pro-Israel senior editor as the main culprit.  See https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/11/2/over-100-staff-accuse-bbc-of-bias-in-its-coverage-of-israels-war-in-gaza

When the Labour Party had a pro-Palestine leadership during 2015-2020, its opponents fabricated a fake crisis about ‘rampant antisemitism’ and blamed the leadership.  This false allegation  was a pretext for demonising pro-Palestine politics as antisemitic.   The BBC was a foremost culprit instigating the fake crisis and stereotyping Jews as pro-Israel.
More generally, the BBC has equated 'the Jewish community' with pro-Israel organizations,  has disappeared pro-Palestine Jews such as ourselves and so has promoted an antisemitic stereotype. With this false narrative, the British state instrumentalizes Jews as a shield for its own racist pro-Israel agenda.  The narrative leads people to blame Jews for Israel’s crimes, thus worsening antisemitism.
In all those ways, the BBC colludes with Israel's genocide and Britain’s state racism.
